DEPUTY MINISTER LAZAROVA: THROUGH ARTS EDUCATION, WE PROVOKE INTEREST IN LEARNING AND CREATIVITY

Through arts education, we can provoke interest in learning, communication, teamwork, creativity.

With these words, Deputy Minister Emilia Lazarova welcomed the participants in the annual meeting of the Section of Schools with Profiled and Extended Study of Music, a member of the European Association of Music Schools in which music is taught. The forum was hosted by 144 Secondary School “Narodni Buditeli” in Sofia.

Deputy Minister Lazarova congratulated the teachers for their aspiration to be innovative, to set creative tasks that stimulate teamwork, entrepreneurship, empathy and intelligence of students. “Schools with a profiled and professional “Arts” direction are a factor in the spiritual and cultural development of our entire society”, she noted.

During the meeting, the teachers shared good experience and innovative practices in the field of music education, discussed the specifics of modular education in the second high school stage, digitalization, the possibilities for change oriented towards greater attractiveness, creativity, integrity.

Deputy Minister Lazarova also focused on the subject of the qualification of music teachers and their development. “As educators, we know that the arts are a natural motivator in the learning environment. We talk more and more about digitization through the different forms of work, creating video and audio clips, using information technology to enrich musical literacy and handling different music and graphic programs,” she said. According to her, it is important to partner with higher education institutions that provide the theoretical basis for good practices, support change in education, and then continue to prepare talents who, through their art, will transfer traditional values ​​to the next generations.

Students from the host school performed a concert showcasing their skills and musical talent developed in the course.

The guests of the event were the creator of Ensemble “Bulgare” Hristo Dimitrov, the vice-rector of the National Academy of Music prof. Svilen Raychev and other partners of the art schools.
